SonoVision: Ultrasound XR

SonoVision is an augmented reality application for visualizing tracked ultrasound images for image-guided interventions. SonoVision is designed to require only a pocket-sized mobile ultrasound probe and a stand-alone mixed reality (XR) headset: Tracking, user interaction and image visualization are all handled within the app. Due to the rapidly changing landscape of XR hardware, the app is also multi-platform, with the goal of supporting Android, iOS, UWP and VisionOS platforms.
SonoVision will serve as a platform for studying the effectiveness of mixed reality in image-guided interventions, investigating potential improvements in procedural accuracy and efficiency. Due to the compact setup and versatility of ultrasound imaging, however, SonoVision may also be useful in many other clinical processes. As development continues, we will explore additional applications guided by feedback from medical professionals across various specialties.
