The PERISKOP project produces a series of 360° pilot films about the patient journey at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin. The films will be made available on virtual reality (VR) headsets to prepare patients for their hospital stay. Patients can experience the hospital environment and key situations of medical procedures prior to hospitalization through an immersive VR application. The goal of the project is to reduce patients' preoperative anxiety and to reduce the workload of hospital staff. Furthermore the project aims to establish VR as a medium for patient education in clinical routines.
